Dubai Expo 2020

My research representative attended EXPO 2020 Dubai UAE (United Arab Emirates) in March 2022.

A world’s fair, also known as an expo, is a large international exhibition designed to showcase the achievements of nations. These exhibitions vary in character and are held in different parts of the world at a specific site for a period of time. It is typically between three and six months.

The US is commonly using the term “world’s fair”. On the other hand, most of Europe and Asia are using the French term, Exposition universelle (“universal exhibition”. What’s more, we are using other terms include World Expo or Specialized Expo for various types of exhibitions since at least 1958.

Expo 2020 is a World Expo, hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being postponed, organizers kept the name Expo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris named Dubai as the host on 27 November 2013.
