MWC Barcelona 2023 was held from February 27th Monday to March 2nd Thursday. As of February 26th 2023, we did not know how many people will attend the event. Some reports say that about 80 thousand people will do. This number is still below pre-pandemic level and there were about 100 thousand attendees in 2019. However, 80 thousand will pass the last year’s number. In addition, an expected effect on economy may be 350 million EUR. This number is huge and that is why Barcelona wants to keep this event.
Our research correspondent attended this year’s event and did in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Of course, there is a clear difference between pre-pandemic and after. However, the requirements are changing from 2021 to 2023. It is much easier for attendees to participate in the event. This experience implies the importance to adapt our changing environment.
