Apple introduced the News Partner Program

According to its official press release, Apple introduced the News Partner Program. The program is a new slate of initiatives to expand Apple’s work with and support for journalism. It also aims to ensure customers maintain access to trusted news and information from many of the world’s top publishers. At the same time, the company wants to support publishers’ financial stability and advance efforts to further media literacy.

Apple designs the News Partner Program as subscription news publications. As a result, it will provide their content to Apple News in Apple News Format (ANF). ANF enables an exceptional reading experience on Apple News and unlocks the full benefit of the platform for publishers. Furthermore, it empowers publishers to create brand-forward stories, immersive issues, and audio stories, with designs that scale across Apple devices.

The most important point is to support advertising. In fact, publishers keep 100 percent of the revenue from advertising they sell within Apple News. Apple News is offering a commission rate of 15 percent on qualifying in-app purchase subscriptions from day one.

Who is Apple?

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company. The company designs, manufactures and markets smartphones, personal computers, tablets, wearables and accessories, and sells a variety of related services. Its products include iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Wearables, Home and Accessories.

In fact, iPhone is one of the most famous products in the world. Unit sales of iPhone was more than 200 million per year from 2016 to 2018. When it comes to other products, iPad and Mac were sold more than 40 thousand and 18 thousand units in 2018, respectively. These numbers are incredible. We also enjoy using its services such as Apple Store, Apple TV, Apple wallet and Health service, too.

How to access or discern trusted news

After the arrival of the Internet or Social Networking Service (SNS), we are living in the age of information. In other words, we are exposed by tons of information even though we do not want it. Thus, it seems critical and important for us to access, discern and read trusted news. What’s more, we must improve our literacy relating to the news. Apple’s the News Partner Program tries to solve this issue.

However, we must protect journalists and publishers at the same time. This is because we have accessed the information much easier than before and for free thanks to the Internet. As a result, many newspaper companies and publishers are bankrupt. Journalists and writers invest their time, money and energy to create trusted and meaningful contents. However, if we can enjoy them for free, how do they survive?

Therefore, the program must give trusted and meaningful information to customers on one hand. On the other hand, it makes journalists, writers and publishers’ business sustainable. In this sense, our media, T-ASK, also tries to offer trusted and meaningful information to our users.

Our vision is “Beyond Your Expectations”. Of course, it is really difficult to realize. However, when you feel our media is quite interesting, you will want to read more. As a result, your will gain more insights about the industries, and your actions will be better. This is what we want to achieve.
