Results in 2022

In the beginning of 2023, the Volkswagen Group shared its results in 2022. There are some of key highlights in the following.

  • Its sales revenue is increased by 12 percent year-on-year and was 279.2 billion EUR in 2022. It means that the decline in vehicles delivered was offset by positive product mix effects and price positioning. Furthermore, order bank remains are at a high level and the number is 1.8 million vehicles.
  • Its operating profit before special items is also increased by 13 percent was 22.5 billion EUR in 2022. Its operating profit margin is improved to 8.1 percent thanks to strong mix and price positioning.
  • Its deliveries of battery-electric vehicles (BEV) are increased by 26 percent and totaled 572,100 units in 2022. Its share in group deliveries increases to 7 percent. It implies that Volkswagen is on track for 20 percent BEV share of total deliveries in 2025 and 50 percent in 2030.

The Volkswagen Group shared its outlook for 2023 as well. Its deliveries in 2023 are expected to rise to about 9.5 million vehicles. As a result, its sales revenues will increase by between 10 and 15 percent primarily driven by the strong order backlog on hand, operating return on sales to be in the range of 7.5 and 8.5 percent, with a strong increase in reported net cash flow.
