This achievement is really impressive because its rivals were struggling in 2021. For example, the Volkswagen Group sold 8.88 million vehicles in 2021, but this number was decreased by 5%. Another example is General Motors, which sold 6 million cars, but this number was decreased by 13%.
Our media has also reported that Toyota became top sales automotive manufacturer in the US. This accomplishment is for the first time for the Japanese company too. In fact, Toyota sold more than 2.3 million vehicles in the US alone in 2021. In addition, the Japanese automotive giant increased its sales in China, and the number is more than 1.9 million cars. Volkswagen is still top sales automotive manufacturer in China. However, its number became 3.3 million cars and it was decreased by 14% year over year.
