Result of Q2 2022

In the second quarter, Tesla produced over 258,000 vehicles and delivered over 254,000 vehicles. These numbers are really impressive. This is because every automotive manufacturer is experiencing ongoing supply chain challenges and factory shutdowns beyond its control. What’s more, June 2022 was the highest vehicle production month in Tesla’s history.

However, if we see the negative side of the result, Tesla’s price might be a problem. For example, the price of its “Model Y” was 48,990 USD in the beginning of March, 2021. It became 65,990 USD in the beginning of July, 2022. It means that the price is increasing by 17,000 USD for only 16 months. We can easily imagine that we are able to buy a small combustion engine vehicle by 17,000 USD. Therefore, even though Tesla has realized its highest production and delivery in the quarter, the company cannot guarantee the same growth from now on.
