In the end of November 2021, Nissan explained its new strategy, “Nissan Ambition 2030”. Nissan is a multinational automotive manufacturer that sells a full line of vehicles under the Nissan, INFINITI and Datsun brands. Its head office is located in Yokohama, Japan. As of March 31st, 2020, the Japanese automotive giant has about 160 thousands employees across the globe.
Based on its strategy, Nissan tries to increase the ratio of sales of Electric Vehicles up to 50% by 2030. In 2020, the Japanese automotive company sold 1.45 million vehicles in China and 0.39 million cars in Europe. The combined number, which is about 1.84 million vehicles, accounted for half of total sales in 2020. Therefore, China and Europe are important markets for the company. At the same time, these two markets are the biggest electric vehicle (EV) market.
Nissan wants to realize the fact that 75% of sales in Europe and 40% sales in China are EVs by 2026. In fact, the Japanese company will increase its investments in EVs from 2022 to 2030. The increase is expected be by 30% compared to the last 10 years.
