SEAT is a Spanish car manufacturer, which sells its vehicles under the SEAT and Cupra brands. It was founded on 9 May, 1950 as a partnership between the Spanish state-owned Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI). The Spanish carmaker shard its latest news related to its battery factory in November, 2022. In fact, it plans to build Spain’s first electric car battery plant as part of a 10-billion-euro investment. The country’s electric vehicle (EV) initiative will support this investment.

The Spanish government said that it would convert its car manufacturing industry, which is the second-largest in Europe. The government is planning to makes use of funds from the European Union’s post-pandemic recovery plan to realize it.

In 1986, the Spanish government sold SEAT to the Volkswagen Group, of which it remains a wholly owned subsidiary. The Spanish car maker plans to build the battery plant in Sagunto, a town near the eastern city of Valencia. The Volkswagen Group would also electrify SEAT’s existing car plants in the northern city of Pamplona and Martorell, a town near Barcelona.
