Collaboration with competitors

According to its press release, the three leading commercial vehicle manufacturers made a binding agreement to create a joint venture. They are Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, and the TRATON GROUP. The joint venture will install and operate a high-performance public charging network for battery electric, heavy-duty long-haul trucks and coaches. As a result, three companies try to contribute to climate-neutral transportation in Europe by 2050.

This collaboration is very unique because three companies are strong competitors each other. However, this announcement means how a CO2-neutral world is important and collaboration with competitors is crucial. Thus, the joint venture will be a strong push for the rapid breakthrough of battery electric trucks and coaches.
