Several media reported that Microsoft continues to strengthen its commitment to Barcelona. Last September, the American software multinational launched an artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning research and development hub in Barcelona. This is the first for all of Spain.
It started with around thirty professionals, a figure that has already grown to ninety. In fact, all of them are highly qualified profiles specialized in software engineering, data science and machine learning.
In this way, the initial forecasts have been accelerated. As a result, it has contemplated exceeding one hundred workers in the first years of operation of the center. The multiple candidates that have submitted to its hiring processes explain the rapid growth of the workforce.
“We are delighted with the high specialization of the professionals who have already joined our team at the R&D hub. They are focusing on AI in Spain and this has prompted us to increase the number of hires.” says Jordi Ribas, corporate vice president of Microsoft Corporation in the United States. He is also a leader of the Search & AI team, which includes the new center.
